Home Improvement Bloggers Transform Outdated Porch with Pella® French Doors
An Idaho couple who run a popular home improvement blog have transformed an outdated porch into a modern dining space with the help of custom Pella® French doors.
Chris and Julia Marcum, who have remodeled several of their family’s residences, said in a blog post they got started envisioning improvements for the space when they visited the home last summer. The couple said they saw using the big room to host friends and family as they come over for meals.
The couple said the room “added valuable living space and square footage to our home that we are excited to use year-round, but we definitely see summer dinner parties, with all the doors open to the patio and the flow from inside to out being magical.”
In its prior use, the enclosed porch had a mixture of doors—older brown French doors and sliding glass doors.
At this time, many of the doors have been replaced with black Pella Architect Series® Reserve™ French doors. As this line features very customizable solutions, the Marcums were able to choose the best door to match their porch.
That space is now an up-to-date dining room. A sleek|monochromatic|neutral]50] look has replaced the outdated brick-and-brown palette.
While the room is large, it’s made comfier with oversized drum lighting fixtures and a large double-sided fireplace. A floating credenza, oak dining tables and leather chairs bring together the look.
